Chris & Kelly Olejniczak
For purposes of this page My Story begins with boot camp (although childhood was a real blast and you should definitely hear some of those stories too).
So off to boot camp I go, 18 years old for less than a month. September 9th, 1996 to be exact and fresh out of high school, while most of my friends are chasing girls and partying their butts off every night, I board an airplane bound for Great Lakes Illinois and U.S Navy Basic Training.
In the Military as you probably know, there is a great opportunity to spread your wings and be trained in so many disciplines necessary for success its almost silly. The best part is, at the time, I had no stinking clue what it would do for me. Walking into the unknown like w/ the military becomes a familiar thing to me throughout My Story.
My job skill training while in the Navy was as a Seabee. I had an awesome experience as a construction worker and would not trade it in for the world.
The other major skill I learned as a Seabee was infantry training and survival training.
The teamwork, leadership, and life lessons that are taught are sometimes more subtle but are there nonetheless for those that want it.
The years spent in construction were well spent and led into a passion for Real Estate. Knowing that I did not want to spend my working life getting dirty, the Real Estate business was a natural move from construction.
I took to Real Estate Appraising like fly’s to you-know-what. I loved it, so much that Kelly learned management side of the business, I learned the productive side of the business and off we went, helping an ungreatful s.o.b. build up and grow his appraisal business. Little did he know, he was teaching us both everything we needed to eliminate him from the equation. That is exactly what we did too. First though, we did something else.
Since the year 2000, Kelly and I have been self-employed. Our first entrepreneurial endeavor was the purchase of a Subway® sandwich franchise. We built the store from scratch and did all of the work ourselves. This included a roughly six month stint of time where I worked 100+ hrs/week in the store. Because our shop was a new location, and customers are so valuable, we were able to sell our franchise for close to twice the initial investment. The picture wasn’t always rosey though. Along with the huge initial investment, there were substantial ongoing overhead expenses every month, and at least that much worth of headaches.
In 2002, we opened a residential real estate appraisal company. This time we chose to start from scratch and design our own business model. In 2004, we opened a real estate brokerage and again did it completely on our own. Between 2000 and 2003, we also purchased five residential properties to provide a passive income. As business owners, we thought that we were building “ongoing income.” Little did we know what we were really doing — digging ourselves deeper and deeper in a rut!
We are now on the path to not only financial freedom, but just as important for us is the time freedom that awaits us at the end of our journey to living a residual life. We have set ourselves up to be able to retire from full-time work before our youngest daughter is old enough for kindergarten. WOW! The best part is, unlike real estate or a restaurant, the roadmap we are using is totally duplicable and affordable, so we can teach everyone how to do the same thing.
Anyone with the proper desire and fire in their belly can achieve a steady “show up in your mailbox” ongoing income.
Lastly, something that one of my mentors says time after time, again and again, really hit home for us. IF ONLY WE WORKED OUR BUSINESS AS HARD AS WE WORKED AT OUR J.O.B.S, AFTER A COUPLE YEARS WE WOULDN’T NEED OUR STINKING J.O.B.S. SO TRUE!
Do yourself a favor, do your diligence, and if you decide Kelly & I can help set you free, Send Us An Email Now, write ‘help me find freedom’ in the subject line, and look for a personal response from Kelly or myself.
Between now and then, make a commitment to yourself and your loved ones that you will never, never, never give up.
SEE YOU IN FREEDOMSVILLE
